The owner of this extravagant palace in the sky is the CEO of MacFarlane Partners, and the manager of Californian Public Employee Pension fund. The question isn’t who would pay $70 million dollars for a penthouse in this sinking ship of an economy, but rather what should the common Californian be thinking about when their pension fund is being held and managed by a real estate investment fund.

With the expertise of Frances CNES space agency, they have created what could be one of the world’s most exclusive joy rides. With a partnership with local entrepreneurs they plan to offer a weightless flight open to the public, but that comes at a price. The company is aiming for a price point of approximately $3,000 euros per 11 minute ride. The refitted Airbus A300 ascends and descends at steep parabolas creating the short glimpses of total weightlessness. With enough capital support and local demand this extreme experience will hopefully be adjusted to affordable prices.

Europe’s Tallest Residential Building, The Istanbul Sapphire

By the last quarter of 2009, the Istanbul Sapphire should be completed and one the most unique residential buildings in the world will open their doors. This 54-floor 238 meter(excluding antenna) tall building is an architecture marvel. With focused being placed on nature within all elements of the building the building has interior gardens on every 3 floors, the building acts like a living membrane in these areas, breathing all elements of the current outdoor environment. Although the current economy has increased the cost of capital, the last stated value to completion was estimated to be $150 million USD.

World’s Largest Cruise Ship, Come Aboard Royal Caribbean

With an estimated build cost of $960 million dollars, the “Oasis of The Sea” boasts some of the most brilliant amenities of any cruise ship to date. Royal Caribbean International is attempting to please every need of their customer offering everything from a dual level rock climbing wall, to an outdoor amphitheater to one of the most majestic shopping areas that any cruise ship has offered which they call The Central Park. The Oasis of The Sea is just a marvel to look at as well,  with a height of 65 meters and length of 360 meters,  it is a city on the sea. The vessel is suppose to launch late 2009 and will operate out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Contact your local travel agent to take part in the maiden voyage, and history.

Lamborghini Police Car, Serve and Protect in Style

On occasion you will see a super-charged Camaro or Mustang highway patrol car but never will you see a cop car pulling someone over in a Lamborghini Gallardo, but in Italy that may be a different story.
